Conference 2006 FHCP Conference, 13 May 2006, Chester Walking tightropes – managing dilemmas in NHS counselling
With limited resource the NHS faces dilemmas on a day to day basis, both in its local structures and national agencies – impacting on national guidelines, service delivery, practitioners and patients. This conference explores current dilemmas facing NHS counselling, equipping practitioners and managers with understanding and skills to successfully 'walk the tight rope' for the benefit of patients. Who should attend?
Why attend? Delegates will gain a greater understanding of current dilemmas impacting on NHS counselling, related general practice and NHS management. There will be lots of opportunity for delegate participation and sharing knowledge, including a plenary, 'soapbox' session and workshops. More for practitioners… In-depth workshops will equip practitioners with new tools, understanding and skills that will enhance their clinical practice and help them manage their dilemmas. More for managers… There are two workshops designed specifically for counselling service managers – these workshops will cover 'practice based commissioning' and 'service user involvement'. These are issues that service managers must embrace and consider in service design and delivery if their services are to have long-term sustainability. Early booking advised for these workshops
